The Law Library bookshelves are open to current Gould students, and USC faculty and staff. (Non-Gould USC students who need a book may email us the book's information, and we will let you know when you can pick it up.)
If a book is not on the shelf where it should be, Gould students may request it through our online catalog.
Instructions for Requesting an Item
Search for the book you want in the search bar in ADVOCAT, the Law Library's catalog.
When you find the book you want, click the Request it button located to the right of the title. You will be taken to the Law Library Account login page.
Enter your name and USC ID number. If the system states that your USC ID number is invalid, please email email@example.com.
Once you have logged in, select and enter a deadline date. Please note that requests may take up to two weeks.
After confirming details, click Submit.
Click OK to finalize your request.
By requesting a book, you are placing a hold on it. Once the Law Library receives your request, we must retrieve it from the person who has it, or attempt to locate it, if it is missing. This can take up to two weeks. If you need an item sooner than two weeks, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will attempt to help, but we are unable to guarantee a book on short notice.
